I think that Rue La La may have just hit the mother lode. Today’s sale features discount Christian Louboutin shoes (there are a few bags too!) and ladies, it’s unbelievable. Think basic black styles that never go on sale, plus seasonal merchandise you might have missed out on. There are a handful of items from the coveted spike collection, too. I won’t waste any more of your time – get on over to Rue La La when the sale begins at 11 AM EST and try your hand at scoring some brand new Louboutins.
For some reason, celebrities seem to love basketball above and beyond other sports. I have a theory on why that might be: Not only is the sport quite popular in both New York and Los Angeles, but the indoor, controlled environment in which the game is played allows celebs to dress up and look good because they know they’ll be photographed. That seems to be especially true of female basketball fans; we’ve noticed that everyone from Cameron Diaz to Kim Kardashian shows up at basketball games dressed to the nines, and more importantly, carrying great bags.
We’ve looked through the courtside seats of some of the country’s biggest NBA teams to find all the amazing handbags that celebs have toted to basketball games, and today, with the start of college basketball’s March Madness and the NBA playoffs on the horizon, seemed like an appropriate time to share our findings. Even if you don’t like the game, it might be worth it to get some Knicks or Lakers tickets just to bag-watch.
As always, it’s not just a love of bags that plague us – it’s also a deep and abiding love for shoes, which we explore daily on our sister site TalkShoes. This week, we’ve investigated an exciting pair of Louboutins on the feet on none other than Hayden Panettiere, pondered Alexander Wang’s latest odd shoe creation and asked ourselves how much we’d really be willing to pay for a pair of flip-flops, even if they were Valentino. We’d love it if you’d join in all of our footwear fun!
Real Housewife and lady entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel is hardly ever seen without an Hermes Birkin, but is it possible her Birkin fatigue is as advanced as everyone else’s? (Our “The Many Bags of Bethenny Frankel” post was almost 50% Hermes Birkins. And 60% Hermes. No lie.) Here she is with a cheerful, bright orange Celine Luggage Tote. As we lamented in this post just yesterday, Celine is still tragically not available from a single online retailer. Still, you can find their bags at Celine boutiques and high-end department stores worldwide.
If you love designer shoes as much as you love designer bags, you might notice that Bethenny’s boots appear to be tan Christian Louboutin Altbottes.
If you’ve been anywhere near your Twitter account on a recent Thursday evening, you might have noticed that basically everyone on Earth watches (and loves) Scandal. I’m hesitant to admit that I’ve never seen the show, but it’s the next thing up on my catch-up list after I get done re-watching The West Wing on Netflix, which is actually a fairly appropriate progression. In Scandal, Kerry Washington plays legendary Washington D.C. PR pro Olivia Pope, who’s charged with fixing all manner of political disaster before they ever become public.
Kerry also starred in Quentin Tarantino blockbuster Django Unchained, and between those two roles, she’s been making the red carpet rounds something fierce over the past year. Luckily for us, she’s not one of those stars who makes her handlers carry her bag while she poses for photos, not is she the type to carry the same plain, metallic clutch to every event. We’ve got a ton of Kerry’s best red carpet handbag moments, plus a few more casual looks, waiting for you below.
Here’s one of my top five starlets-who-can-do-no-wrong, Emma Stone, drenched almost head-to-toe in Lanvin at the LA premiere of her new flick Gangster Squad. Her garnet strapless dress and statement necklace are both Lanvin, and you’ll notice she’s carrying the Lanvin Brass Trim Box Clutch. If you’re going for an Emma-inspired evening look, check out a similar clutch from Lanvin for $2,390 at Luisa Via Roma.
Lanvin has always been one of Emma’s top choices for the red carpet, as has Christian Louboutin – she’s paired the infamous Christian Louboutin Pigalle Pumps with her otherwise entirely Lanvin ensemble.
